The Slanghoek – Rawsonville Wine Region is small compared to other major wine regions in South Africa.

Rawsonville is a small wine growing and farming community in the Breede River Valley of the Western Cape province of South Africa.

The town forms part of the Breede Valley Local Municipality, and is located in a scenic portion of the valley on the eastern flanks of the Du Toitskloof Mountains.

Rawsonville is situated merely an hour’s drive from Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

These are the winelands areas of the Breedekloof, Slanghoek, Goudini and Breede River.

Rawsonville is 90 km to the East of Cape Town and 15 km to the West of the large town of Worcester.

Award winning wines and a natural playground consisting of crystal-clear streams and majestic mountains await you in the Breedekloof/Rawsonville area.

The Rawsonville area is known for the Breedekloof Wine Route with its 22 Cellars and Wine Estates and also hosts the annual Breedekloof extreme sports festival.

Activities in the Rawsonville area include some of South Africa’s best trout fishing spots along the Molenaars, Elandjacht and Smalblaar rivers.

The Breede River also offers great fishing or a leisurely river rafting or canoe trip.

The many majestic mountain ranges offer visitors a glimpse of the natural Fynbos and endemic bird life.

They also attract plenty of hikers, and horse-riding through the vineyards is a special treat!

Those who like motorized transport can quad bike through the vineyards or tackle challenging 4×4 excursions.

We look forward to welcome you to the Rawsonville and Slanghoek areas.
